Something happened to me the other day that was pretty interesting. A lady came into the office, and she mentioned hearing a survey on the radio that she found most intriguing. So I asked her, "What was the survey about?" She said, "Well, the radio announcer asked this question: What is the most prominent thought that most people have each and every day?" I replied, "That's pretty simple. It's probably food." But she said it wasn't food. I tried, "Something about your family?" No, that wasn't it either. I attempted with "Time off?" Again, she shook her head. So I finally admitted, "Alright, you got me. I don't know what most people think about each day." She told me that the answer was sleep. In the survey, 97% of people said they can't wait to get home at night and put their heads down on the pillow. Wow, I thought, that's an interesting perspective. The figures and those thoughts were astounding to me. Many of my patients talk about fatigue as their first or second symptom, so I know it's a problem. But I didn't fully grasp the magnitude of the issue until she brought up the survey.
Let's talk about what happens when joyous things are taken out of your life due to lack of sleep. You can't fully enjoy life the way you're designed to if you can't sleep. Think about it—playing or interacting with your kids, spending time with friends and loved ones, pursuing your life's passions—all of these are impacted by fatigue. And you certainly won't be contributing positively to the world if you're constantly feeling drained and lack the energy to make things happen. If you're someone who has fatigue on top of your list of concerns, I want to help you understand what's possible. More than that, I want to provide you with potential solutions and, hopefully, the solution to your fatigue problem.
Now, let's clarify what's not a solution: it's not a bigger CPAP machine or more drugs and medications. We know those are usually just temporary fixes, if they even work at all. Our mission at our offices is to uncover the root cause of the problem and, in doing so, find the right solution. And let me tell you, that solution can be life-changing. Over my 37 years of experience, I've worked with thousands of patients not only to help them sleep but to achieve a deep, restful sleep. This leads to waking up in the morning feeling refreshed, alert, and ready to seize the day and create a new, fulfilling day for themselves.
Throughout the years, here's what I've noticed—see if any of these resonate with you: digestive issues, hiatal hernias, gastric reflux, burping, stomach distension—these are problems we commonly encounter and successfully address. Physical body pains like feet problems, numbness, hip, low back, neck, and shoulder pain are prevalent. Frequent trips to the bathroom during the night—getting up multiple times—can greatly disrupt your sleep pattern. Another issue we've seen is constant mind chatter—when your brain won't shut off. We've effectively helped people deal with this pattern and find relief. Additionally, external factors like snoring from a significant other, outside noises, lights in the room can all contribute to sleep disturbances due to emotional stress. We address and work through these issues because we know that if we can't help you relax and find comfort in your sleep, you'll continue to struggle through the night.
Once we've identified the problems, we move on to correcting them. I want to emphasize that all these problems are correctable, and with that correction comes the possibility of regaining a fulfilling and restful sleep that can expand your life and experiences. What we've found is that 80 to 90% of our patients experience improved sleep quality on their very first visit.
If, like me, you believe in your body's ability to heal itself and if you believe there might be a solution to your sleep problems, then I encourage you to reach out. You can call our office at 770-536-6600 or visit our website at winnerwellness.com to send us an email. We can have a conversation and a consultation, and it won't cost you a thing. If I can help you, I'll provide you with the solution and explain how we can achieve it. And if I can't directly assist you, I'll offer some options for you to explore. If this is the moment you decide you want to regain your rest and sleep well, and if you're ready to step out of the traditional box you've been in for so long, then it's time to make that phone call. I look forward to helping you change your life, get you back on track, and restore the vitality you used to have and can have again. Wishing you good health and a healthy future.
