I met Alex when he was 2 or 3 years old. At that time, his grandfather had brought him in because the tendons in his ankles were so constricted that he was walking on his toes. He couldn't walk on his heels like all the other boys. In a couple of visits, we began to notice an improvement in his walking. Sadly, however, the medical doctors intervened and told the family that he had to undergo surgery to cut the tendons so he could walk normally. So that is what they did.

Fast forward 17 years, and Alex came into the Winner Wellness Center, still walking on his toes. His lower legs had decreased in size, and he had very little leg strength. It was as if it was 17 years earlier, the same problem, just in a bigger body.
