Back Pain, Pinched Nerves Explained
Mike Stewart • Mar 09, 2020

Hello, everyone. Mike Stewart here again, joined by Dr. Jack Winner. Today, we'll be discussing back pain and the unique approaches that Dr. Jack employs to help patients dealing with this issue. Dr. Jack, can you shed light on what sets your methods apart in alleviating back pain?

Absolutely, Mike. My approach combines chiropractic and kinesiology. Chiropractors have long focused on releasing pinched nerves, which has been the cornerstone of their work for nearly a century. Over this time, we've honed our skills in relieving pressure from nerve pathways, a common source of back pain.

Often, the pain stems from a pinched nerve, particularly in the lower back. Many patients present with this complaint. Identifying the misaligned bone causing nerve pressure is our initial step. Once we rectify this misalignment, the relief is almost immediate, often within a visit or two.

However, our goal extends beyond mere relief. Many patients have experienced temporary pain relief through chiropractic methods or other interventions like injections or medications. Unfortunately, the pain often returns. This is a pervasive issue in back pain, where people suffer intermittently over a lifetime. Such pain strikes unpredictably, even during enjoyable moments.

So, beyond pinpointing and alleviating nerve pressure, we aim to prevent recurring pain. We address the supportive muscles around the affected area, resolving any spasms and ensuring they provide consistent support. Additionally, strengthening core muscles is crucial to sustaining long-term relief. This empowers patients to perform daily activities without fear of triggering pain, as the muscles now hold the bones in place effectively.

What gives you the confidence that this approach is effective, and what evidence supports its success?

Over 37 years in practice, I've accumulated a wealth of experience, and thousands of patients have benefited from our methods. I recall my initial encounter with a woman suffering from neck pain who struggled to perform basic tasks like combing her hair due to the pain. After adjusting her spine and observing the temporary relief, I realized that wasn't enough. By identifying and addressing the muscle imbalances causing the issue through kinesiology, her pain vanished. What amazed me even more was that her chronic migraines subsided.

That early experience set the foundation for my approach, emphasizing not only immediate relief but also lasting results. Muscle support and overall body health are vital components. This approach has enabled us to keep patients pain-free for the long term.

Given your extensive history of successful cases, what steps would you recommend for someone suffering from back pain to seek relief?

To those experiencing back pain, I'd encourage them to reach out via email or phone for a conversation. Many are confused and desperate for immediate relief. However, providing them with a clear understanding of the issue's origins and how our approach can address it is equally important.

Interested individuals can email me at winnerwellness@gmail.com or call us at (770) 536-6600 to initiate that conversation. We'll assess their situation and determine how we can assist them. If they're not in our vicinity, we'll also explore options to connect them with local care.
